Sergia Garcia Fernandez was born in 1980 and is a professional golf player currently fielding in both the PGA and European Tours. Garcia has thirty international titles to his belt, the most significant being the Players Championship 2008 edition and this year’s (2018) Masters Tournament. Garcia’s professional career has been spent in the top in world ranking, having featured mostly in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking for over 400weeks. Even though he has never been position one in world rankings, the player has reached second, which was after taking home the HSBC Champions tournament in 2008.
Amateur Career
The golfer started the relationship with the sport at the tender age of three, and was being trained by his father. Garcia tasted his first victory when he won Club Championship at age 12. 4years later, he qualified for the Turespana Open Mediterranea 1995 edition under the European Tour. He went on to win the European Amateur, making history as the youngest golfer to win the European Amateur. Professional Career
Garcia turned professional in 1999. He won his first title on the European Tour. The golfer made an albatross during a practice session. This was such a unique experience. The golfer won his first PGA Tour event, which was the 2001 Mastercard Colonial. In 2002, Garcia won the Mercedes Championship and the EDS Byron Nelson Championship in 2004. As a professional golfer, Garcia has been a member of the European Ryder Cup team since 1999. His record at the course is quite impressive, and it features 10 PGA Tour wins.
